About Us

Sport Bequi was created in 1979 by Bartolomé Bertard Bauzá to fill in a gap in the cycling market in the Balearic Islands: quality cycling clothing and accessories. The first store opened its doors in El Arenal, and it was very welcomed by the cycling community of the area, as well as the returning visitors to the island. By 1995, Sport Bequi was expanding to cover the Northern market of the island, and Bartolomé’s son Tomeu Bestard was inaugurating the doors of a new store in Puerto de Alcudia.

With the ever increasing need to stock all types of accessories, including shoes, glasses, helmets and more, a second store in El Arenal was born. Rolando Villa opened the doors to this new store in 2000 and offers all types of accessories, as well as bike parts and complete quality framesets, along with bike rentals.

In 2004 Angel Arquellada opened the doors to the first Sport Bequi in Sevilla. From this store, Ángel offers the area of Andalucía the same level of service and quality that Sport Bequi has maintained from its beginnings.

The constant quest to improve customer service meant that in 2007 there would be several changes, including opening a new space besides the bike store in El Arenal led by Mabel Bestard. The continuing service and quality of Sport Bequi are guaranteed at the new space, as well as online through this web site.
